LinuxWorld Expo and Conference San Francisco, CA: August 14-17, 2006

  • LinuxWorld is the main event for the Linux community where they can dive into the open technologies that are still transforming. In August 2006 the conference celebrated the 15th Anniversary of Linux and its amazing evolution from a kernel to industrial-strength corporate applications.
  • Splunk's CEO, Michael Baum, conducting a panel on Troubleshooting the Linux and Open Source Stack.

NaSTEC, Chicago: October 20-21, 2006

  • NaSTEC provides an opportunity for networking and system administration professionals to network with peers and leaders in IT, polish technical skills, learn what's new in the industry and share ways to cope with the tough job market.
  • Splunk's CEO, Michael Baum, spoke about finding the needle in the logfile haystack during his presentation on Diagnostics--Finding the Problem is the Problem.
  • Splunk also sponsored a full track that included three sessions on working with logfiles. Session topics included Setting Up Your Logging Infrastructure, Logging and Compliance and Working with Logs from Specific Technologies.

IBM Tivoli Netcool User Symposium, Tucson: October 24-26, 2006

  • IBM's Tivoli Netcool User Symposium is the place to tap into best practices, resources and implementation ideas you can only find amid peers and colleagues in the Netcool user community.
  • Splunk will be demonstrating our soon to be offered integrated solution with Netcool. Come get the first look.

LISA, Washington, D.C.: December 3-8

  • The annual LISA conference is the meeting place of choice for system, network, database, storage, security and all other computer-related administrators.
  • Splunk's CEO, Michael Baum, gave a talk on Virtualization: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. It went so well, it extended through the next session period (also because that speaker didn't show up!)
  • Splunk's VP of Community and Services, Patrick McGovern, gave a talk on Leveraging the IT Community for 90 minutes--even he didn't realize how exciting online communities could be!
  • In addition to exhibiting, Splunk's CTO, Erik Swan, and VP of Product Management, Christina Noren, fielded questions on Splunk and logging infrastructures during a well-attended vendor session.
